THE PRODUCT, THE PROCESS, THE PRICING
THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO SUBMIT YOUR TATTOO ENQUIRY
For a tattoo to be truly successful, it's essential for the client and artist to build a foundation of trust and understanding. With over 10 years of experience creating art around the world, I've developed a unique approach and style that reflect where I am in my career today. As I continue to grow in my tattooing journey, I'm focused on taking on projects that ignite my passion and allow me to fully commit my artistic drive. I prioritize quality over quantity and aim to create a body of work that I am proud of. While I can't accept every request, I carefully select projects that align with my style and artistic direction. I'm dedicated to staying true to my style and applying everything I've learned about creating great, long-lasting tattoos. If you're committed to the process and we find that we're a good match, I look forward to hearing your concept and bringing it to life together.
THE PRODUCT
Portraits, large scale, freehand
Let me start by telling you about my style and approach to tattoos. I primarily work in the style of realism, which includes micro realism and portrait tattoos. I'm always open to taking on these projects, whether in color or black and gray. For larger projects like sleeves, my aim is to blend realism with freehand movements. I often use dark tones, smoke, and subjects to convey movement, and my work is known for employing chiaroscuro to seamlessly transition from one image to another. Here's a brief overview of my approach and process for each style:
Portraits
I create unique portrait tattoos in both color and black and gray, specializing in large hyperrealism and micro realism. I translate photographic images onto the skin, depicting family members, animals, or pop culture figures. Most portraits are completed in one-day sessions, but larger or more detailed pieces, like a tiger on a thigh or a colorful movie character portrait, may require multiple sessions over several days.
Large Scale
I enjoy crafting large-scale tattoo designs tailored to specific body regions, such as an arm or another part of the body. These projects are typically spread over multiple days, either continuously or through scheduled sessions, depending on the design's size and complexity. Ideally, I like to take these projects on over a 2-3 day back-to-back session. As I continue to refine my style, these pieces often have pre-created concept ideas ready to tattoo. When starting a new piece with a client, I prefer to begin with a theme or idea from the client and then create a tattoo sleeve or large-scale piece around that theme. This ensures proper arrangement, contrast, and space for a cohesive and visually appealing outcome.
Freehand
I also work in my own style of organic freehand art, drawing directly onto the skin with markers. This approach enhances the design layout on larger projects. This style often features organic or facial imagery. Depending on the piece, I may pre-draw a rough layout or incorporate elements of realism, especially in black and gray. For example, I might create a kraken tattoo by first tattooing a realistic tall ship and then freehanding the tentacles to give the impression of them pulling the ship into the water. I hope this gives you a clearer understanding of the three tattoo styles I specialize in and how I approach each one. For a better idea of my designs, please refer to my concepts.
THE PROCESS
ARTISTIC FREEDOM is paramount
I prefer to create my own tattoo concepts, and I have an Instagram page dedicated to showcasing my designs. I use AI software to help me craft unique, one-of-a-kind ideas. You can check out my tattoo concepts page here. When it comes to custom designs, especially for sleeve tattoos, I enjoy having the freedom to create designs that fit the body's contours. I love incorporating complementary colors to achieve contrasting tones and hues in color realism projects. In my freehand style, I let the piece come together creatively. As an artist, staying invested in my creations is crucial. It can be frustrating when clients try to design their own sleeve tattoos. I say this with the utmost respect, but I want to feel passionate about what I create to deliver my best work. If you appreciate my style and are open to providing an idea or theme, we can discuss potential booking dates. However, if you have a specific image or requirements in mind, I can recommend other tattoo artists who might be better suited for your needs.
HYPER COLOUR REALISM
Perhaps this is your inaugural hyper colour realism tattoo, hence I'll briefly highlight some vital distinctions between colour and black and grey. In my experience, with colour realism, I can push boundaries in terms of detail, but these tattoos necessitate a lot of work. From developing a colour palette to testing the skin's limits, I'm usually building three to four layers when crafting colour realism. Consequently, we require a healthy expanse of skin to execute these types of tattoos. A sun-damaged outer forearm isn't the optimal spot for a white-faced Heath Ledger Joker tattoo, as we need supple skin that accepts the process and yields a well-healed tattoo. Typically, I execute these colour tattoos in an eight to ten-hour session or over two consecutive days, comprising six-hour sessions each.

CONSULTATIONS
Consultations come at no cost for simpler designs and portraits. Nonetheless, for more elaborate projects such as sleeves, I prefer to hold a consultation, which is also free. Though, I strongly recommend a paid design consultation for certain projects, to ensure that we achieve the best results.
Video consultations can be arranged for clients that are located regionally, interstate or overseas at the time of booking.
COVER-UPS
I am open to the idea of covering up tattoos, but the possibility of doing so is contingent upon the existing tattoo's design and depth, as well as the desired cover-up design. For me to assess feasibility, it would be helpful if you could provide images of both the current tattoo and any reference images of the intended cover-up design.
TATTOOS JEREMY AVOIDS
I prefer to tattoo designs that inspire me and usually avoids the likes of pocket watches, compasses, and maps. I limit my work to imagery and don't tattoo writing or script. Moreover, I never replicates designs by other artists. Therefore, please refrain from requesting copies of other tattooists' work. Inspiration only.
THE PRICING
The cost of your tattoo will be based on the time required to create it, which can be influenced by factors such as the tattoo's style, design, and size. Additionally, unexpected circumstances may impact the duration of the session, making it challenging to provide an exact quote for more extensive tattoos. Many factors can affect the time needed to complete your tattoo, including your skin condition, pain tolerance, design complexity, and initial preparation for finalizing and stenciling the tattoo.
It's essential to remember that most sessions begin at the scheduled booking time of 11:00 AM, and that you and I will work together to develop and personalize your design during your first session. If you decide on a colored tattoo, I will conduct a color study and select hues to match the design and complement your skin tone. You will be charged for the design development and preparation time before the session.
I will often conduct research and gather high-resolution images to inform the design before your session, which is free of charge.
If changes to the design are made on arrival, it will require additional preparation time, resulting in an extended session and potentially increased cost. In some instances, it may not be feasible to obtain suitable reference materials for the design. It's vital to remember that tattooing is not just a procedure; it's an art form that involves a great deal of problem-solving to ensure the best possible result. Rushing the process may compromise the quality and beauty of the finished artwork.
By 2022, I had expanded my business, Elysian Tattoo Co, to become the largest studio in Perth, employing over 20 artists. In 2024 I opened Hoochimama, a modern take on a walk in tattoo studio. To maintain a healthy work-life balance, I usually work a 4 day week, dedicating the remaining days to managing both studio and designing tattoos. My preferred schedule involves 6 - 7 hour sessions with larger projects done over 2 - 3 day sitting. This approach helps me stay creative while giving my mind the necessary rest it needs.
Deposit $500 (none refundable)
$1500 minimum + $250 p/h after 5:00pm (Prices based off of $250 per hour.)
All appointments start at 11:00am
Design consulting days options, Free for 2 hr window for larger projects.
In order to account for the high costs and risks associated with travel, all national and international guest spot bookings (including those in the Gold Coast) require a minimum charge of $1800. While most bookings last around 7 hours, I prefer to take on larger pieces and longer sessions that last 9 hours or more. It's worth noting that the tattoos showcased on my Instagram account are often completed over a period of 12-14 hours in either one long session or two consecutive days. For longer sessions, Igenerally prefers to book on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
If you're looking to get colour realism, longer days are recommended, particularly if you don't plan on doing multiple sessions. Highly detailed pieces may take longer and can even go into the night, so it's important to be prepared. We recommend clients bring between $2200 - $3000 if they're looking to get such pieces done.
Each session includes a brief lunch break (or dinner break if it's a longer session) as well as intermittent breaks that allow the skin to settle during the tattoo process. To secure a booking in Jeremy's diary, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is required.
AVERAGE TIME FRAMEs
This is a basic guideline for the average time frames of body parts in Black & Grey Realism (color tattoos may take longer) on an average sized male client. If you prefer Freehand, disregard this guide as that style is quicker.
Larger projects like Back Pieces and Chest/Stomach pieces usually tattooed in only 6 hour sessions due to their positioning. Back pieces take 5-8 standard sessions/30+ hours,
Chest 4-6 sessions/24+ hours, Full leg sleeve 7-10 sessions,
Calf (sock) from knee to ankle 4-5 sessions,
Outside of a thigh 12-20 hours (please note that a thigh is similar in size to the back). Hand tattoos take 6-8 hours,
Outer sleeves from Shoulder to Wrist take 4-6 sessions, Inner forearm tattoos take 6-15 hours, Inner bicep tattoos take 6-15 hours.
Tattoos of animals with fur, such as tigers, lions, and wolves, usually take at least 10-13 hours.
Portraits of loved ones, celebrities, etc., usually take 8-13 hours depending on the image and size.

BOOKING INFORMATION
If you’re keen to make a booking with me, let’s get this rolling! Please read the following information to ensure your booking is seamless.
There are two non-negotiable things I need from you to determine if and how your idea will translate onto your skin.
While a face-to-face consultation is pleasant, it's not mandatory. We can initiate the process over email or messenger. To make progress, I require two things. Firstly, a sharp, candid picture of the area on your body where the Everest tattoo would be inked. It'll aid me in visualizing the space and designing prototypes. If feasible, ask a buddy to take the photo to guarantee it's fit for use.
Additionally, please provide me with ample reference material. This can include other tattoos that inspire you, and high-quality photographs if available.
Thank you for taking the time to read this information.
“I can’t express this enough: tattooing - creating amazing bodies of work - takes dedication and undying enthusiasm from both parties involved. Creating amazing work that also heals just as well will take commitment and patience from both of us. I hope that we share the same values and expectations of the project ahead and that we can work together to create something unique and exceptional - something that will look incredible for many years to come.”
